Hi Tess - Haha! Your comment gave me a good laugh when I first read it. I guess this was a "pick my battles" sort of situation. ;)

Amanda,
I wouldn't call that a certain style. I would say the girl didn't have boundaries. The way you changed your perception of the situation is called a "miracle." You're awesome!

Hi Lance - Right, a lot of times we are too focused on our own point of view. Hearing someone else's can make us think a little differently and find that patience we have been looking for. :)

Hi Trey - Glad you stopped by. :) That quote really jumped out at me. It expresses something I was thinking in a way that is really clear. You can practice almost anything, patience included.

Hi Dani - Yes, I absolutely did. ;) No, seriously, all of us tend to go a little too fast, but slowing down (even just a little) is possible if we work at it.

Did you write this for me? I have some serious issues with patience. I'm always in a rush, always go-go-go, and I have no patience for waiting. Obviously this is one of my less favorable personality traits. But it's something I can work on this post will certainly help with that!

Hello Amanda,

I think one of the more important things you mentioned was in the quote that you cited. Patience is something that has to be trained, and the less you train it, the easier you are going to fatique when it's time to use it!

My recommendation is to seek out someone who annoys you and tests your patience. Then focus on every possible thing that you can think of that you like about that person, or have positive to say about that person. Sometimes, a little reminder that the person isn't completely worthless will work towards being more patient with them. :-)

I have people who test my patience on a regular basis, and sometimes I don't do very well. In my experience, the best way to handle it is to move on with your life when you fail at being patient, and work to wipe the slate clean again.

Hi Amanda,
Patience - one of those things that can be really hard! I try to practice patience, and one thing that works for me is to really let go of everything else I'm thinking - and just really focus on the person and what they're saying/doing. And to take this a bit further, to also really see the human element there. And realize that just because I may know something, or do something - that doesn't mean everyone else is the same.

Amanda, this is such a great post. Patience is something all of us can practice more, no matter how good we are at it.
