The One Thing That Will Always Get You Unstuck

Confront Your Pain

When you feel stuck, somewhere in your life is the key to getting unstuck. Whatever currently causes you the most pain is that key.

The good news is that this is easy to find. You are usually pretty aware of what is painful to you. It’s pretty obvious really.

The bad news is that it will be uncomfortable to go towards it. And that’s exactly what you need to do.

The first step is to feel however this thing makes you feel. Give yourself the time and space to do that. When you realize that you can feel all the emotions this thing brings up without exploding or disintegrating (i.e., when you realize that these emotions can’t really hurt you), then you are ready to start proceeding through them. And, unfortunately, through is the only way.

What you need to do next is whatever seems the most frightening. I can’t tell you exactly what that is, but this should be pretty clear to you.

And then, after you do this scary thing that you thought you could never do, see how you feel.

If you feel relief, then you are probably on the right track. Keep going if you need to. See if there are more scary things you need to do.

Afterwards, you will probably notice positive changes in your world, some that seem to come out of nowhere. There may be parts of your life that now feel easier, more peaceful. You might see an opportunity that you’ve been waiting for, or you might suddenly figure out how to do something that you’ve been wanting to do. Things just seem a little easier.

And that’s it. But, remember, if you don’t go through, you will go nowhere.

Also, ask for help if you need it. It’s your journey, but that doesn’t mean you have to be alone.
